Adding additional information on the sprit that was added to the boat in 2018 and is the public comments of the rating on May 5 as follows: "2018 Addition of a temporary removable sprit (18" max past headstay)". The sprit was declared and added to the vessel in 2018. Details were provided to the Handicap Committee at the Jan 16, 2018 handicap meeting. The sprit is a class modification that was added to the C&C 99 fleet that chose to add a sprit and matching asymmetrical spinnaker to their boat. Sprits have been added to a number of C&C 99s since its first build in 2002. The boat has an oversized pole of 14.5' and a J of 13'. The sprit extends 18" past the headstay so its SPL is 14.5' in front of the mast. Plans for the sprit are available on the class website and in all cases where sprits have been added that do not exceed 18" past the headstay there has been no change in the PHRF handicap across many PHRF areas. About 15 of the new standardized class sprits have been added to the C&C 99 flee across North America in the past three years. All spinnakers carried on the C&C 99 are 200% spinnakers whether they are asymmetrical or symmetrical. The two 200% asymmetrical spinnakers are declared on my inventory .
